Nordea expects pressure on Brazil to intensify: This is a serious signal

Yet another investor joins the 29 asset managers and pension funds behind letters to Brazilian ambassadors. Head of Responsible Investments at Nordea Asset Management, Eric Pedersen, expects increasing pressure on Brazil to halt the deforestation of the Amazon.

As one of the largest investors in the Nordics, Nordea Asset Management is one of the 29 signatories behind letters to Brazilian ambassadors urging them to put a halt to the deforestation of Brazil's Amazon.

"This is a serious signal that I think will be noticed. In the first place, it will tell some likeminded people in Brazil that they are not alone. And it's a signal that in the long run, full access to international capital markets is contingent on acceptable management of ESG risks," Eric Pedersen, Head of Responsible Investments at Nordea Asset Management, tells AMWatch.
