New player aims to rival large-scale asset managers

Spektrum Fondsmæglerselskab, which was formed out of the established consultancy Kirstein, has huge amitions. Conventional asset management still plays an important role, it says, but Spektrum is also aiming to give customers access to skilled asset managers of alternative investments.

Fifteen months ago, Jesper Kirstein announced that he would divide his consultancy firm into two divisions: Kirstein A/S which provides consultancy services to asset managements, and a new division, Spektrum, offering advisory services and asset management to professional investors.
