Finnish timberland investor targets Portuguese business growth

Dasos Capital, the Finnish timberland investor, is now in the process of expanding its investments in Portugal. Its CEO tells AMWatch the company has its eye on cork in particular -- a sustainable material currently seeing a strong revival in demand around the world.

Finland's Dasos Capital is looking beyond its home territory in Europe's North towards sunnier climes for its next business push -- with climate change mitigation a major demand driver behind the strategy.

According to Olli Haltia, Dasos Capital's chief executive (See picture above), today EU countries around the Baltic Sea are the primary focus for Dasos Capital. Of these, at the forefront are Finland and Sweden.
