US fund giant attracted to wind investments in Sweden

Swedish wind power is among the most attractive renewable energy asset classes in the world, and US fund manager Blackrock, which has invested billions in Swedish windfarms, has started a new record fund for environmental investments.

"It is a very strong trend in asset management that investors' interest to invest in infrastructure -- especially renewable energy -- is increasing sharply. And here, Swedish wind power is very competitive," Sverker Åkerblom, portfolio manager at Blackrock's Stockholm office, tells Swedish business daily Dagens Industri.
