Pension funds lobbied for deferred period before property intervention

The Danish pension funds P+ and PKA would have been heavily impacted by the Blackstone intervention with billions invested in tenanted properties. For this reason, they suggested a deferred period, which inspired the government, according to Danish business daily Børsen.

Last year, P+ and PKA had a meeting with the Danish Minister of Housing and Building Kaare Dybvad, before the minister received recommendations from a group of experts that had worked with avoiding short-term property speculation, writes newspaper Børsen, which has got right of access to documents showing part of the pension funds' lobby work before the so-called Blackstone intervention in the beginning of the year.
