Private equity companies can play a crucial role in the development of Denmark's wind industry, which is still made up of many smaller businesses at a time when customers are pining for bigger, stronger players.

That's the take from North European PE firm Verdane, which has currently invested in two Danish subsuppliers and thinks there is a need for further consolidation.
