Nordic investors don't consider ESG labeling when picking managers

ESG labeling or ratings are not widely used by Nordic investors when picking fixed income managers, a research project headed by Copenhagen-based consultancy Kirstein shows. Despite this, there is still a future for the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, says Kirstein director Casper Hammerich.

Sustainable investments are in high demand in Europe, primarily driven by a belief that they provide ways to mitigate downside risk and opportunities to generate alpha from companies with improving ESG scores.
