SEB sharpens private equity fund with impact and better liquidity

In 2015, SEB created a fund investing alongside private equity firms. Recently, the Nordic manager officially declared it an impact fund and improved its liquidity ”It’s a unique investing mandate. No one else has done it before,” fund manager Simone Hirchvogl tells AMWatch.

Many asset managers are struggling to make alternative investments available to more investors.

At SEB, one solution is to invest alongside some of the world’s best private equity firms when they buy into companies that are listed. The Stockholm-based SEK 2,432bn (EUR 228bn) manager recently changed its listed private equity fund into an impact fund and improved its liquidity further.
