Spektrum offers infrastructure to smaller pro investors with CIP feeder fund

Søren Dal Thomsen, the newly appointed CEO of Kirstein offshoot Spektrum, is already working with the firm on a fund giving smaller institutional and professional investors exposure to infrastructure assets. The firm’s founder Jesper Kirstein tells AMWatch it is not just large pension funds that need alternatives in their portfolios.

The hunt for alternative investments such as real estate, infrastructure and private equity continues apace for Nordic pension funds looking for new sources of inflation-linked return. Now Spektrum — the investment management firm that has just been set up by Danish consultancy Kirstein — is offering a way for smaller institutional and other professional investors to get in on the action.

The idea came from Søren Dal Thomsen, the former chief executive of AP Pension who has recently been appointed to lead Spektrum from 1 November, succeeding Kirstein’s founder Jesper Kirstein who will move up to head the holding company owning both Spectrum and Kirstein.
