Pensiondanmark snaps up 26,000 sqm as part of DKK 615 million deal

SEB Pension sells the final part of office development Teknikerbyen, north of Copenhagen, after the first was bought by Sampension in December.

SEB Pension has sold Teknikerbyen ­ a 47,000sqm office development in Virum to the north of Copenhagen ­ for a total price of DKK 615 million (EUR 82.6 million), according to SEB Pension, which is being taken over by Danica.

The first 23,000 sqm of the asset were sold in December to Sampension and Kristensen Properties, and now Pensiondanmark is taking over the remaining 26,000sqm.

"The property does not fit in with SEB Pension's future strategy, so we decided to investigate whether a sale could bring us an attractive price. That was fortunately the case, all for the benefit of our pension customers," says Solveig Rannje, CEO of SEB Ejendomme, in the statement.

As of Feb. 1, Pension Danmark is taking over the 26,000 sqm, which is occuplied by energy company Ørsted, while Sampension and Kristensen Properties are taking remaining 23,000 sqm with tenants Marchmercher and Niras.

"We are taking over an attractive business property with modern facilities and a good location. With Ørsted as a solid tenant on a long lease, we expect the investment to give our members a good return for many years," says Torben Möger Pedersen, CEO of Pension Danmark, in the company announcement.

Sadolin & Albæk brokered the sale, and law firm Accura acted as legal advisor for SEB Pension.
