Danish pension funds ditch companies with poor tax ethics

Before investing their members' pension savings, several pension funds in Denmark are now checking to find out whether companies are hiding money in tax havens.

Most pension funds opted out of investments in firms with links to tobacco and cluster bombs a long time ago. These days they are also backing away from companies with inadequate concern for the environment, human rights and working conditions.

But now, several pension funds are going further in their efforts to invest only in ethically responsible and sustainable companies, according to a report in Danish daily Politiken.
