Danish pension companies pressure European oil major on Myanmar complicity

Danish pension companies PFA and Topdanmark are reconsidering investments in French oil giant Total due to its cooperation with the military junta in troubled Myanmar.

Danish pension companies PFA and Topdanmark are putting pressure on French oil and gas supermajor Total to address that the company – as the largest gas operator in Myanmar and through its collaboration with state-owned and military-run Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) – can be coupled with the junta that staged a coup d'état on Feb. 1, reports Danish daily Information.
