AP1 goes out on hunt for new ESG prodigy

Swedish national pension fund Första AP-Fonden (AP1) has begun the search for a replacement for Nadine Viel-Lamare, the fund's former head of sustainable value creation, Ossian Ekdahl, AP1's head of communications and ESG confimed.
Viel-Lamare left the fund in November having worked there since 1992. On her Linkedin profile, Viel-Lamare writes that she is in the process of setting up her own business and is also open to positions in organizations with sustainability as their core business strategy.
She joined AP1 as a performance analyst in 1992. Since then, she has held several positions at AP1 including those of head of performance measurement and head of corporate communications and SRI. She has worked as head of sustainable value creation since June 2009.
AP1 manages approximately EUR 32.7 billion and is one of the five AP funds acting as buffers for the Swedish national pension system. Between January and June 2018, its investments yielded a real return of 1.7 percent after expenses.
