Danske Bank Head of Sustainable Finance Samu Slotte has taken a degree in environmental science to increase his ability to lead the bank on climate issues.

To put it mildly, he remained skeptical when he first encountered the idea back in 2007: Bonds that could only be spent on green initiatives. Why would banks interfere with clients' decisions on how to spend assets as long as they were paid back in due time?
