Last year, Blackrock awarded a five per cent pay rise to its CEO Larry Fink. The rise took the total remuneration for the head of the world’s largest asset manager to EUR 21.4m, which is ahead of all industry rivals, as reported by the Financial Times.

The newspaper's analysis unit has looked into the salaries and bonuses for the top leaders of 31 US and European asset management businesses. The combined pays and bonuses for the CEOs rose 12 per cent to EUR 197.2m last year.

As for Larry Fink, the five percent increase came after an 8.3 percent decrease in 2018. He is also entitled to about EUR 43 million in stock awards that have not yet vested.

Larry Fink's place on the FT list of best-paid executives in the AM industry is followed by the CEOs of AMG, T Rowe Price, Eaton Vance and Invesco.
