Want to save the planet? Take a closer look at your bond portfolio

Today, all the sustainability noise is around equities. But that's all wrong, Ulf G. Erlandsson of Glacier Impact Fund tells AMWatch. If fixed income is not held to account soon, humanity can forget about reaching the Paris Agreement targets, because it is bond markets that hold the real power on sustainability, he says.

Bond investors are too passive when it comes to using their immense muscle in the fight against climate change, according to the Swedish portfolio manager of an environmental hedge fund.

All the hype around sustainability is currently geared towards the equity space, and focused on constructing exclusion lists and voting at AGMs -- but the big money is in the fixed income space, where far too little is going on to mitigate climate change, according to Ulf G. Erlandsson, lead portfolio manager (PM) and co-founder of climate-focused credit-based hedge fund, Glacier Impact Climate Total Return Fund.
