Robur veteran jumps ship to main rival

A long-term Swedbank Robur portfolio manager is leaving to join Sweden’s second-largest fund manager.

After 20 years in various roles at Swedbank Robur, Rikard Forssmed has left Sweden’s biggest domestic fund manager to join Handelsbanken Fonder.

At Handelsbanken Fonder, which is Sweden’s second biggest domestic fund manager, Forssmed is portfolio manager and responsible for the US small cap fund Handelsbanken Amerika Småbolag, which has SEK 16.8bn (EUR 1.6bn) in assets under management.

Throughout his two decades at Robur, Forssmed has been a portfolio manager within US stocks and commodities as well as a trader and as head of trading. Since 2016, he has overseen the Swedbank Robur USA fund.

Swedbank Robur has EUR 158.1bn in assets under management and sits on roughly 20% of Sweden’s mutual fund market while Handelsbanken’s corresponding figure is EUR 86.8bn with a market share of 12.2%
