Varma cuts listed equity exposure to protect portfolio

Commenting on the pension giant’s Q3 results, CIO Markus Aho says that Varma has ”temporarily” reduced its exposure to listed equities, which made up 34% of all assets at the beginning of the year.

Finnish pensions giant Varma pulled in a return of -4.9% on its investments for the first three quarters of 2022.

Total assets under management dropped to EUR 56.4bn from EUR 59bn in the period.
