Insurance firms in Sweden have doubled equity exposure since financial crisis

In 2008, 30% of AUM of Sweden’s insurance companies was invested in equities. 14 years later, that figure has reached 60%, increasing the companies’ risks when investing, Statistics Sweden writes.

The assets of Swedish insurance companies have grown dramatically since the financial crisis in 2008. The companies are also taking greater risks when investing, figures released by Statistics Sweden (SCB) show.
