Varma’s 2022 results helped by unlisted assets and recovery of European equities

In a year when listed equities and fixed income assets dropped dramatically, Finnish pension giant Varma benefited from positive returns on its unlisted investments.

Varma came out of last year with a return of -4,9% of its investments, but the results could have been worse had it not been for a strong ending to the year for European equities as well as a positive performance by the company’s unlisted assets, the Finnish pension giant states in its 2022 report.
