Oil fund places Polish company under observation for human rights violations

A government-controlled company’s takeover of a Polish news publisher may be a threat to press freedom, the Norwegian oil fund’s Council on Ethics states.

Norges Bank, which manages the country’s oil fund, has placed a Polish company under observation for three years due to an “unacceptable risk that the company contributes to serious violations of human rights.”
