Danish housing market better than feared, mortgage giant says

Denmark’s house prices will drop just 8.2% from the peak, according to the country’s largest mortgage provider, which now sees the market rebounding quicker than previously anticipated.

The Danish housing market is now “pretty much through the price drops,” Mira Lie Nielsen, an economist at Nykredit Realkredit A/S, said in an interview on Tuesday after the lender published new forecasts. In May, Nielsen and fellow economist Svend Greniman Andersen had predicted house prices to decline as much as 11.9% before improving.
