Small cap firms wise to ESG challenges, claims Danske on new launch

Danske Invest is launching an ESG-tilted Swedish small-cap fund in the midst of the country's general election and the prospect of declining business conditions. AMWatch questioned the newly-hired fund manager about ESG in the small-cap sector, the forthcoming election and his investment style.

Petter Löfqvist had been handpicking Swedish small-cap stocks for a decade, when Danske Bank hired him in April as senior portfolio manager ­- first at Finland's Evli and later at Swedish bank and insurer Länsförsäkringar.
