Foreign appetite for Finnish real estate grows steadily

Several foreign investors such as Morgan Stanley and Round Hill Capital made their first investments in Finnish real estate last year. According to Hanna Kaleva, managing director of Finnish property information service KTI, positive development of the Finnish economy and the growth of larger cities, especially in the capital region, are main drivers of the trend.

The role of foreign investors in Finnish real estate market has grown steadily over the past five years, show figures from Finnish property information service firm KTI.

Last year, several new international players entered the market. In 2018, foreign investors made 66 percent of all transactions, worth EUR 9.3bn, whereas the proportion was at 28 percent five years prior.
