Investing for the long term? Go for index funds, Morningstar study suggests

Norwegian stock-pickers investing in domestic equities have generally performed better than their Swedish and Danish counterparts, according to new report by investment research firm Morningstar. However, still less half of the Norwegian investors perform better than an index fund over a 10-year period net of fees. Investors with a five-year investment horizon may benefit slightly from selecting an active fund.
