Visible role models and stronger networks would make fund management more attractive for women

As AMWatch reported yesterday, female fund managers are heavily underrepresented in Nordic asset management. Some of the women in the industry blame a lack of role models.

Despite "a broad search with emphasis on finding female candidates" for the vacant role of CEO at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), and the prospect of managing the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, NBIM failed to bring in a single application from a woman.
