UBS expects extra taxes for richest clients

The richest clients and tech companies will pay for the economic support packages offered during the corona crisis, says UBS.


Countries across the world have launched extensive support packages to cushion the economic blow of the corona crisis, and Børsen reports that according to UBS, these will probably be paid for by the very wealthiest in society and large technology companies, once we have reached the other side.

"None of the countries have concrete plans, but we expect higher taxes for the rich to finance the debt. This includes taxation of capital gains, income and on gifts and inheritance, as well as possibly higher taxes on fortunes or financial transactions," says UBS chief strategist Mark Haefele, according to the Danish daily.
