Award-winning fund manager sets up his hedge fund strategy in another firm after being fired from previous role

Ernst Grönblom has developed a new hedge fund with United Bankers, which is based around the same ideas as the fund he founded in 2012 at Helsinki Capital Partners. Grönblom's earlier fund, HCP Focus, was ranked the best long-only equity hedge fund in the world by BarclayHedge in March 2019.

Asset management company United Bankers and Ernst Grönblom, the founder and former portfolio manager of the hedge fund HCP Focus have set up a new fund, which is similar to the award-winning long-only fund he founded and managed at Helsinki Capital Partners before being fired from the firm last spring.
