Danske Bank AM's next commander-in-chief plans to stay on until retirement: "You can quote me on that"

Christian Heiberg's move from a career in Markets to Danske Bank Asset Management in 2018 was no coincidence – he had been lobbying for the job. In late January, Heiberg will be moving to the top of the organizational chart at Denmark's largest asset manager. Heiberg tells AMWatch how he got the role, how he set his own team, how the negative Danske Bank cases affect him and how he has coped with not being a social butterfly.
"Throughout my career, I seem to have unintentionally avoided Danske Bank, and my perception had become a bit like a football fan who often has a love and hate relationship with the competitor. In London, I had been following Danske Bank and they made a lot of good decisions, although it also turned out that there were a few bad ones as well.
