Credit Suisse weighs asset management split from wealth unit

Credit Suisse Group is considering splitting its asset management unit from the wealth management division, as Chief Executive Officer Thomas Gottstein grapples with the aftermath of the Greensil scandal across the bank’s businesses.

Credit Suisse Group is considering splitting its asset management unit from the wealth management division. Chief Executive Officer Thomas Gottstein, speaking at a Morgan Stanley conference on Tuesday, said that having asset management as a sub-division of the much larger business catering to wealth and high net-worth individuals is "something that I always had some doubts about," he said.
