Study highlights benefits of equity factor investing – but some investors still have misgivings

Equity factor strategies are important for Nordic investors' portfolios, although recent underperformance still remains a hurdle for some. Blending factors could mitigate some shortcomings, a Kirstein study shows.

Systematic investing, or so-called factor strategies, now make up a large portion of European investors' portfolios. Historically, Dutch and German institutions have been two of the most "quant-savvy" groups in Europe, but Nordic investors are also currently increasing their allocation, a new study conducted by Danish consultant Kirstein in collaboration with Quoniam Asset Management shows.
