EU accelerates the assessment of supporting factors for green capital requirements

Much of the news concerning the EU Commission's new gold standard for green bonds turned out as expected. However, the head of sustainable finance at DNB Markets has noted that the Commission has brought forward the deadline for the European Banking Association to present its analysis of supporting factors for green capital requirements.

On Tuesday, the EU Commission approved a number of measures to raise its ambitions when it comes to sustainable financing. Among other things, it is introducing a gold standard for green loans to make it easier for investors to see through greenwashing tactics.
