Brummer Multi-Strategy loses heir apparent

Mikael Spångberg was appointed CEO of the hedge fund manager's flagship strategy in 2017. He leaves less than a year after founder Patrik Brummer announced he was the key to the company’s future.

Swedish hedge fund manager Brummer & Partners is announcing changes to the management of its flagship Brummer Multi-Strategy (BMS) fund. Mikael Spångberg is departing the firm after ten years, with four of those as the CEO of BMS. He is leaving for personal reasons, the firm has announced, without divulging more details.
