Physical abuse at care facility forces major investors to focus on the S in ESG

Institutional investors CVC Capital Partners, LocalTapiola, Ilmarinen and Varma have been in touch with a Finnish health care chain they own after reports that an autistic child had been mistreated at its facility emerged. AMWatch has spoken to the key investors.

CVC Capital Partners, LocalTapiola, Ilmarinen and Varma have recently been pushed to consider how they monitor the S of ESG in their investments after Finland’s state broadcasting company Yle reported about an case of physical abuse of an autistic child at a nursing home belonging to health care chain Mehiläinen the institutional investors jointly own.
