Oil fund merges technology and operations areas in shift towards data

Norges Bank Investment Management, which manages Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, has merged the chief operating officer and chief technology officer roles, giving the current COO more responsibility. A new role, principle data developer, has been created for the current CTO.

The current Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) will have more on her plate from April 1, when she also takes over the responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer. This comes as the EUR 1.2trn oil fund increases its data focus.
