Committee approves ATP's controversial fund construction

When Denmark’s biggest pension fund ATP announced the creation of private equity fund ATP PEP VII, this included the set up of a parallel fund for external investors, which sparked debate about the role of the state in fund investing. However, the construction has now been given the green light by an official committee.

The private equity fund ATP PEP VII has been given the go-ahead by the Danish government’s state support committee, who had the task of discerning whether the fund was receiving state support in a way that disadvantaged private managers.
