
The war in Ukraine may change attitudes towards the weapons industry, says Hanna Kaskela, Director of Responsible Investments at Finnish pensions giant Varma to business daily Kauppalehti.
“Of course, there are things that we won’t touch at all. But there are still traditional aircraft manufacturers in the sector, for example, so it may not make sense to exclude the [defense, ed.-] industry as a whole. Instead, we should look at how the activities of a company are related to the arms industry, for example, and what kind of limitations should be put in place,” says Kaskela.
