Danske Bank reported asset management whistleblower to police for attempted blackmail

Danske Bank reported a former employee from its Asset Management department in Finland to the police for attempted blackmail, but the case was subsequently dismissed. A lawyer specializing in whistleblower cases says it looks bad for both parties.

A few months ago, outgoing board chairman Karsten Dybvad told AMWatch’s sister media FinansWatch that Danske Bank employees could feel safe and confident when bringing information ”forward and into the light”.

However, one former employee and whistleblower from the Bank’s Finnish asset management department says that this is far from reality.
