DNB removes kickbacks from funds in anticipation of ban

Norway’s largest bank is removing retrocession fees from all of its own funds and will soon require fund managers who want to use DNB’s platform to do the same.

During the summer, the Norwegian FSA, Finanstilsynet, initiated a hearing round concerning a potential ban on retrocession fees, commonly known as kickbacks. These are fees that are paid to managers for distribution certain products.
