Kentucky blacklists Nordic banks for ESG policies
Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball says banks maintaining exclusion policy on fossil fuel suppliers will be subject to divestment from the US federal state.
The State of Kentucky has added Nordea, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, and Swedbank to a blacklist of financial institutions the state accuses of excluding fossil fuel companies. The list of eleven financiers was published on Jan. 3, and includes BlackRock, BNP Paribas, Citigroup, Climate First Bank, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Schroders.
