Oil fund continues discussions on entering private equity with new note on the asset class

The discussion note published Thursday follows NBIM’s recommendation earlier this year to the Ministry of Finance, that the oil fund should also invest in private equity.

Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), which manages Norway’s gigantic Pension Fund Global, writes that buyout funds on average have meaningfully outperformed public equities.
