BankInvest CEO fears complexity could lead retail investors to give up on sustainability

BankInvest warns of problematic risk-return ratios and product mutation as a possible result of the new requirements to assess how customers view sustainability. AMWatch talked with CEO Lars Bo Bertram about the blessings and curses of sustainable finance policy.

Two months ago, new regulation required asset managers to start assessing whether client investments match their sustainability preferences. The new MiFIID II requirements are just some of many steps on the EU’s Sustainable Finance agenda that aims to direct investments toward net zero emissions.
