Danish pension fund AkademikerPension, along with a number of other international pension funds, has had its lawsuit against the German car manufacturer Volksvagen dismissed, and at the same time loses the opportunity to appeal to a higher court, writes Danish business media Finans.

”We are naturally disappointed by the decision, as it does not clarify investors’ right to have important issues addressed at general meetings,” AkademikerPension CFO Anders Schelde tells the media.

The lawsuit was filed by the Danish pension fund together with Swedish pension funds AP2, AP3, AP4 and AP7, and the British Church of England Pensions Board. The goal was to make Volkswagen disclose information about the company’s lobbying efforts on climate issues.
