He pulled in a monthly salary of NOK 1m as CEO of Skagen Fondene. At this stage, oil fund veteran Øyvind Schanke tightens the belt to create a new fund management company in Stavanger.

Over the past couple of years, influential investors from Stavanger has chased after state contributions for a new seed fund similar to what is seen in several Norwegian cities, according to Norwegian business daily Dagens Näringsliv.
