Infrastructure and private equity bring small relief to Finnish buffer fund

Tumultuous 2022 leaves the State Pension Fund of Finland with a two billion euros lighter portfolio, further complicating its situation ahead of future challenges.

The State Pension Fund of Finland (VER) has recorded a negative return of -6.8% for 2022. During the year, the market value of VER’s assets under management went down to EUR 21.6bn from EUR 23.6bn at the end of 2021.
