More than one-third of managers do not report ESG violations to Varma, despite shared values

In a fresh survey by Varma, only 62% of fund managers employed by the pensions giant say they would inform the company about violations of ESG principles.

Some 85% of fund managers Finnish pensions giant Varma employs have committed to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, finds a fresh survey by the pensions company. The survey conducted in the summer of 2023 covered all of Varma’s asset classes and nearly 57% of Varma’s entire investment portfolio worth approximately EUR 57.4bn.
