Greenwashing and finding suitable projects remain challenges for green bond investors, say Varma and State Street

Greenwashing, a lack of common reporting standards and finding suitable green bond investments remain the main challenges facing institutional investors, say Varma's senior portfolio manager and State Street Global Advisors' fixed income strategist.

Finding projects and assets to finance with a green bond is currently a bigger challenge than greenwashing in bond investments, says Ann Brännback, Senior Portfolio Manager at EUR 53bn Varma.

Talking to AMWatch about ESG and the corporate bond market, Brännback notes that the danger of greenwashing does still exist, however.
