New requirements for social investments may put pressure on investors

Banks, investment funds and pension companies have transitioned their investment universes to focus on environmentally sustainable investments. Now, the EU wants to go a step further and introduce requirements for socially sustainable investments.

New requirements for social investments risk limiting the investment universe at banks, pension funds and investment funds significantly if they are implemented, meaning there will be very few assets to choose from for sustainable investors, special interest groups have warned the EU.
