Amazon shareholders reject workers’ rights resolution despite pressure from pension funds

All proposals made by external investors were voted down at the online retail giant’s AGM, including a resolution on employees’ rights to unionize supported by Nordic pension funds and asset managers.

At Amazon’s AGM on Wednesday, shareholders voted to reject a proposal that would have pushed the US online retail giant to report on its commitment to workers’ rights to unionize and engage in collective bargaining. This is the third year in a row the proposal has been shot down.
