Despite huge investment, Alecta has little control over troubled real estate giant

The pension firm’s 38% stake in the debt-ridden real estate company Heimstaden may end up being costly. Head of Swedish FSA has disqualified himself from its investigation into Alecta’s investment.

An investment worth SEK 50bn (EUR 4.2bn) and a 38% ownership stake notwithstanding, the pension company, Alecta, appears to have limited influence over the troubled Swedish-Norwegian real estate giant, Heimstaden Bostad.
